Let's take a breather. Ever since Girl Scout came out the gate in September 2022 they've been met with euphoria and disbelief about their fresh take on indie rock. Now, with their debut EP Real Life Human Garbage out, the band is touring restlessly while putting the finishing touches on EP number 2, which will arrive very soon.

In the meantime they reworked 'Attenborough Beach', one of their debut tracks, into a beautiful acoustic version that takes the melancholy shining through in the original and builds on it, wrapping it in acoustic guitars, piano and a tender string arrangement. "'Attenborough Beach' was a song we really wanted to strip down to the bare bones. The foundation of the song is so simple, we wanted to make a version where the basic elements had a chance to really shine," says the band about the originally gazey dream-rock number. "The process was very similar to how we record our demos, just the four of us in our rehearsal room, our instruments and a laptop. Daniel Migdal wrote and recorded the string arrangement at Ingrid Studios in Stockholm, it added such a soft and delicate element to the music. I think this version really narrows in on the lyrics; the intimate friendships we share during adolescence."

Girl Scout's debut EP Real Life Human Garbage shines with moments of vulnerability and acceptance of your own flaws and weirdness presented through today's ideas of 90s grunge and brit pop – and it clicks with people. From their home turf Scandinavia, where they landed playlists on P3 Sweden, P13 Norway, P6 Denmark, as well as features in Dagens Nyheter and the biggest music magazine of the North, Gaffa, to Germany and the UK where the songs got featured on numerous radio stations like BBC1, BBC6, Amazing Radio, FluxFM, radioeins or egoFM while receiving praise from the likes of NME, The Guardian, The Times, Dork, Clash, diffus, Visions and many more – everyone seems to agree this four piece is on to something. Even the US is hooked, where there's glowing reviews from Consequence of Sound, Paste, Billboard, Atwood, Flood, Consequence of Sound and MTV.
